Fiscal Responsibilities

As many people in the community are aware, we will be voting to pass a bond referendum this fall.  After the vote, the fiscal responsibility of the district will be a priority to make sure the funds are applied for the best return on our community’s investment.  Transparency and accountability are key factors in building and sustaining trust in our community.

Community Outreach

Being a board member will put me in a position to engage with people on a more personal level.  I will be able to build and sustain relationships with staff, families, and community members. The concerns of those in the community will be my concerns; I want to be a resource for people who have questions or concerns about something that is happening in the district.

Opportunities to Grow

As a parent, I understand the importance of supporting our schools.  Classrooms are changing, molding into the needs of students, and providing more opportunities for growth and success.  However, while we continue to focus on student needs, our population is continuing to grow which will undoubtedly lead to strain on students, staff, families, and our overall community.  While we are a district of admiration for student success and teacher performance, our facilities need attention.  Expectations for both students and teachers are growing outside the scope of what our facilities are capable of.   As a district we need to focus on expanding learning spaces and increasing safety features for our students.  To meet these needs, I would reach out to our community members for support.

My Role

There is a strong relationship between the White Bear Lake Area School District and our community. I feel it is important to maintain transparency between the public and the district.  Providing a clear understanding of district policies that comply with the local government will ensure our district is equitable and inclusive to our students.
